Discovery Academy, a clinical boarding school, is excited to announce that Marliett Davis has joined our clinical team as the Girls Clinical Specialist. Marliett will be actively involved in the clinical treatment of each of the girls in our program and partner with our residential staff to make sure there is a fully integrated experience that is positive for each of our girls.
Marliett comes to us from our sister program Discovery Ranch for Girls, where she has been employed as a clinician since DRG opened in 2013. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and received her Masters Degree in Social Work from Colorado State University. Prior to her graduate work, Marliett gained valuable experience as a care technician at Center for change. She also spent time as an intern where she helped facilitate the “Drugs, Alcohol and You” program. Once her internship was complete, Marliett continued her time at CSU, maintained a private practice and gained further clinical experience while working at the La Luna Center for Eating Disorders.
Marliett has a passion for working with girls and specializes in healthy body image, eating disorders, grief, trauma and the treatment of personality & mood disorders. She is also certified in DBT, has training in Psycho Drama, and has completed a year of Yalom’s Interpersonal Group training. Marliett is excited to be closer to her family and to make a contribution to Discovery Academy in her new role. Please join us in welcoming Marliett (and her dog Lily) to Discovery Academy!!
