Jonathan Jones
Headmaster

Jonathan has been associated with Discovery Academy since 2001, first serving for three years as Headmaster, then, since 2003 serving as Academic Consultant. Jonathan brings forty-four years of education experience to this position, both in classroom instruction and school administration. He has served as Principal or Head Administrator at the high school as well as K-12 levels, in Colorado, Virginia, California, and Utah, and also has taught adjunct at the college level. Jonathan earned his BA degree in Social Science at West-mont College, and his MA degree in History at the University of Northern Colorado.

Additional post-graduate work, primarily in school administration was accomplished at University of Northern Colorado, Old Dominion University, and California State University, Fullerton. He is licensed in school administration and endorsed in teaching History in the state of Utah. Jonathan and his wife, Jane, are the parents of three adult children and three grandchildren. He enjoys travel, reading, a wide variety of music, sports, and the outdoors. He has expressed great pleasure in his association with Discovery Academy, strongly believing in the viability and success of the personalized, academic program as an integral part of the total therapeutic and life-skills mission of the school. /p>
