Elaine Layosa
Elaine was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA and still enjoys visiting family and friends each summer. She left Louisiana to attend Brigham Young University where she majored in Microbiology and Chemistry. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree, she moved to southern California and worked as a microbiologist in the Food & Flavor Industry. After working for several years as a Microbiologist, Elaine completed a degree in Secondary Education at California State University. She accepted her first teaching job at Esperanza High School in Anaheim, CA and began teaching Chemistry. She completed a Master’s degree in Educational Counseling and received her MAEd in June, 2005. Elaine is married to Shawn who hails from the most beautiful Hawaiian island, Kauai. They have four children and seven grandchildren. Elaine loves hanging out with her grandchildren, reading, watching the Science Channel, hiking, and going on road trips.
