Dorothy AhQuin, LPC, MAED

Dorothy has been working at Discovery Academy since 1992 as a Certified Special Education teacher and a Licensed Professional Counselor. In addition to her therapeutic experience, she taught high school for twenty years gaining insight into the field of special education and motivating students who have fallen behind academically. Dorothy sees the two fields working together in her treatment of adolescents as it often takes success in both therapy and academics for students to begin the discovery of who they are and what they can become. When Dorothy isn’t busy fulfilling her unique role at Discovery Academy she enjoys cooking, reading, quilting, traveling, spending time with family, and camping.
