Coleen Gleason

Coleen is one of the newer teachers on the Discovery Academy team, but she is not new to working with and educating teenagers. She gave up her successful teaching career to raise and mostly home-school her own seven children. Later, when most of them were grown, she found she enjoyed working with students with special challenges when she taught GED classes for several years. She began at Discovery Academy in January of ‘08. Coleen has her BA in English/Secondary Education from Brigham Young University. A published author, she especially enjoys helping students learn to write. At home she enjoys reading, writing, cooking, alternative health, and camping with her large family. She has been married for thirty five years and has twenty grandchildren.
