An Arkansas native, Lanny joined Discovery Academy in 2012 after completing his graduate studies in administration education at Utah State University.
Lanny taught social studies for six years at a residential treatment center.  There he worked closely with at-risk teens, as well as students with Aspergers Syndrome. His passion for excellence in education led him to create professional development programs and peer coaching. He worked to improve school functioning and also developed a school-wide behavior management plan.
Lanny believes every child can achieve success and he works tirelessly with students, teachers and parents to create a rigorous learning environment that also help students recover ground lost at other schools.
The father of four daughters, Lanny is proud of his Southern roots. He enjoys fishing and hunting and spending time with his family.
