Lee came to Discovery Academy with a Masters degree in Educational Administration and over 20 years of educational experience. In addition to classroom teaching, Mr. Jensen has also been a school Principal, Vice-Principal, counselor, coach, and College Adjunct Instructor. He spent 6 years in Denmark completing pre-doctoral studies in Comparative Education as well as teaching at the University of Copenhagen.
While working on his Pre-Doctorate in Comparative Education at the University of Copenhagen, Mr. Jensen played semi-pro basketball for 3 years, and coached the Danish National Basketball Championship team for 2 years. Later, his oldest son played on the Danish Olympic team. Mr. Jensen has been a leader in organizing junior golf tournaments in Utah and throughout the western states. He is an avid reader, especially of fiction novels. He covered the NCAA and NBA basketball seasons for several leading European sports magazines while living in Portland, Oregon.
He is married with 6 children and 7 grandchildren. His wife is a former UPI journalist, book and curriculum developer, and currently Cooperative Administrator for a Danish National non-profit organization. They live a short distance from Provo in nearby Pleasant Grove where Mr. Jensen is currently a member of the Pleasant Grove City Council.
